Day 3 - Monday 30 June 2008
This morning the Lane family was out in mass again to walk. Jim and I ran together, and I ran back. I was the first one to show up for breakfast as a result. Fair Hills has soy milk this year, though I think their "veggie" lasagna had beef or sausage in it. I sent my post cards out this morning, so the Red Group and Stacey should get those before I return home.
This morning I did yoga with Mom and Temi, then went into the pool for a swim (the water is quiet heated here). I had not been in the lake higher than my knees yet, hopefully soon, though. Lunch was next, then the Lancaster's (Aaron and me) and the Roble's (Jim, ANge, Mark, and Sam) had a littl ping pong tournament, which we have yet to finish.
After dinner, which we tried not to eat much, we went to Zorbaz--the local pizza (and Mexican) restaurant. We ordered six pizzas, though we did not eat more than 4 of them. We have a tradition of going out for pizza and beers. We proceed to tell jokes and are generally too loud. It's a good time, and a fun tradition.
It was another great day and I am looking forward to more!
Peace,

Fair Hills - Day 2 (Sunday)
Day 2 - Sunday 29 June 2008
Every morning at Fairh Hills there is a walking club that walks around part of the lake, and then the big boat picks you up and takes you back in time for breakfast. This morning, most members of our family went (everyone except David, Jonathan and the twins; Jennie and Dad, who are not here yet, and Temi, Mark, and Sam, who slept in). Jim and I ran most of the trip, and I run the short cut the way back instead of waiting for the boat.
After breakfast there was a game of capture the flag, water arobics, and lots of reading and napping. This afternoon, I read and lounged in the hamock. After dinner (stuffed peppers and salmon) we played volleyball and basketball. The Lane family dominated the sports scene here. We hung out and played cards until bedtime.
Overall a pretty good day.

Fair Hills - Day 1 (Saturday)
Day 1 - Saturday 28 June 2008
Our family arrived at Fair Hills Resort today. We will be staying for one week. Fair Hills is in Minnesota near Detroit Lakes. Here is a map showing the location of Fair Hills.

When Aaron and I arrived with Gramps and Bobbie, we first went and played some ping-pong (a tradition we enjoy). Then we had dinner (I had veggie lasagna), and the activity of the night was Bingo. Mark was the only one in our family to win, even though we bought 40 cards. The cousins hung out in the "party cabin" later that night, and then we went to bed.
More fun tomorrow!

Discernment Committee Retreat
Today, my discernment committee from Christ Church Cambridge met with me at the monastery of the Society of St. John the Evangelist in Cambridge, Mass. We meet for the morning and afternoon to discuss a wide range a topic and to worship and eat with the others at the monastery. Overall, it was a wonderful day.
If only everyone had a discernment committee to work with them when face with difficult choices.

Happy Birthday, Grandma!

My mother and I went down to Burlington, N.C. for a few days to visit my parternal granmother on her 82nd Birthday (Thursday 12 June). We had a great time going on walks in the woods and book shopping at Barnes & Nobles. My granmother is still in good health and is as happy as ever to share her birthday with her family.

Stacey's Promotion
I just wanted to let Stacey know how proud of her I am. Today, she became the newest Associate on her team. This promotion is the result of the hard work and highly skilled dedication she gives to her job. I am so happy she is receiving recognition for these traits, and their trust and respect in her is showing.
CONGRATULATIONS, STACEY! You are awesome, and you deserve it!

Bike Tune Up
Yesterday, I got my bike back from EMS. I sent it in to get a tune up and replace a few parts. I am really happy to have it back, and it is riding much smoother. I decided I would like to ride to work and around town more since it is summer. It is a greener alternative, and though I do not have a car, I still save money instead of paying for the T (public transportation in Boston). I hope to get some more things to "outfit" my bike and make it a better commuter-mobile.
